"George Jacob Dambacher and his wife, Barbara Zehner left there house in Alsace France in 1832 and boarded the ship the New Jefferson at Le Havre, France and arrived at the port in Baltimore, Maryland. Accompanying him were his daughters,and his sons, Adam, Charles, Fredrick and Christian. The two older sons John Nicholas and George Jacob, brought their families later in 1835 to the port of New York where they soon settled close to their parents in Cranberry Township, Pennsylvania. "
